Sean Gibbons is the CEO of The Communications Network, which supports foundations and nonprofits to improve lives through the power of smart communications. His commentary, writing and analysis have been featured in The New York Times, Stanford Social Innovation Review, NPR, CNN, and The Wall Street Journal, to name a few. Prior to joining The Communications Network, he was Vice President for Communications and Senior Fellow at Third Way, a public policy think tank in Washington. D.C. Previously, he served as Director of Media Strategy at the Center for American Progress, where he created the organization’s innovative online video department and many of its social media platforms.Before his career in public policy, Gibbons was an award winning producer at CNN, where he was recognized by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for his role in the network’s live coverage of the September 11th attacks and served as the Washington Producer for Newsnight with Aaron Brown, American Morning and Anderson Cooper 360. Before joining CNN, he worked at ABC News on various programs including World News Tonight with Peter Jennings.
